Use case: student participant pools
Run cognitive tests with your student participant pool
Share one study link with your Sona Systems pool or department sign-up page. Students start from the link, take short scored tests in their browser, and return to Sona for credit after the last test.

What to put in the study description
15 untimed tests run on phones and 17 on tablets. 27 of the 47 tests are timed and need a laptop or desktop with a mouse or trackpad, so a study with a timed test needs one. Say in the pool listing which device students need, and that the browser must be Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.

What it costs
Studies that use only the 6 free tests are free for up to 50 participants each, with up to 3 active studies. Any other test costs $0.99 per participant with pay as you go, or comes with a yearly plan. See pricing.
Questions from pool coordinators
Do students need to install anything?
No. The tests run in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, in full screen.
Can students take part on a phone?
Yes, for untimed tests: 15 untimed tests run on phones and 17 on tablets. Timed tests need a desktop or laptop with a mouse or trackpad. A phone that cannot run every test in a study is stopped before the consent form. On an open study link, that person is not counted and uses no credit.
How do students get credit?
With Sona Systems, the study link carries each student's survey code, and after the last test ConductCognition sends the student to Sona's completion URL, which grants credit. Other pool systems can use a completion code shown on screen.
What if a student stops partway?
Opening the same pool link again with the same survey code continues the same participant record. A participant who comes back continues from the next unfinished test, and a test that was interrupted starts again.
How do we spot careless sessions?
Each session records full-screen exits, switches to another tab, responses faster than 100 ms and omitted responses, and is marked valid, needs review or invalid with the reason. The Study Quality Monitor shows the counts for the study.
